What's New

Every Vaultaire release on the App Store, newest first, with the date it shipped and the highlights that matter.

What we're working on

These are in active development for upcoming releases. Nothing here has a fixed date until it ships.

  • Coming in version 1.0.12: rotate photos and document previews inside the vault, and encrypted iCloud backups that recover after an interruption, show upload progress, and skip duplicate backups.
  • A new storage engine built for large libraries, so big vaults open faster and stay responsive. Existing vaults move over automatically, with nothing to do on your side.
  • Folders and manual ordering, so you can arrange each vault the way you want.
  • Vaultaire for Mac, with your vaults mounted in Finder so you can work with encrypted files on the desktop.

Version 1.0.11 Released

More ways to go Pro

New Vaultaire Pro options and a more dependable app.

  • Choose the Pro plan that fits: weekly, yearly with a 7-day free trial, or lifetime.
  • Reliability improvements across sync, backup, and everyday use.
  • Refinements and bug fixes throughout.

Version 1.0.10 Released

Recovers on its own

Long operations survive interruptions, and the security core gets tighter.

  • Imports, backups, restores, and large vaults handle interruptions and recover on their own.
  • Tighter protection around unlock, secure delete, and key handling.
  • Many smaller bug fixes. Still no ads, no ad tracking, and no account.

Version 1.0.9 Released

Encrypted Backup for everyone

Encrypted iCloud backup comes to the Free plan, and you can capture photos and video straight into the vault.

  • Encrypted Backup is included with Free and Pro. Free covers up to 3 vaults, 100 photos, and 10 videos. Multi-device sync stays a Pro feature.
  • Your vault is encrypted on your device before the backup reaches your private iCloud account.
  • Take photos and record video inside Vaultaire without adding them to your Photos library first. Preview a clip before you keep it, choose whether to record audio, and watch videos in landscape.
  • Imports, backups, restores, sharing, thumbnails, and large vaults are more resilient, and interrupted work is easier to recover.
  • Duress protection, recovery lockouts, secret handling, permissions, and accessibility have all been tightened.

Version 1.0.2 Released

Vaultaire arrives on the App Store

The first public release: an encrypted vault for photos, videos, and documents, unlocked with a pattern you draw.

  • Every file is encrypted with AES-256-GCM using a key derived from your pattern, so it stays unreadable without it.
  • A decoy vault with its own pattern keeps your real vault invisible when someone demands access.
  • No account and no server. Everything runs on your iPhone.
  • Import from Photos and Files, or capture straight into the vault with the built-in camera.
  • Share a separate encrypted vault with someone you trust.
